PERSONAL SERVICE IS WHAT THE CLIENTS
WANT WAREHOUSEXCHANGE BUSINESS CONTINUES TO GROW AS SPACEBUSTER CLOSES
Warehousexchange was the UKs first online warehouse
space broker when launched in October 2000.
The web site continues to provide an online catalogue of
available warehouse space provided by warehousexchange clients, but the site has
never provided online trading capability, serving instead as an initial point of
contact with the warehousexchange team of warehousing and logistics
professionals.
The Directors have always been convinced that customers
were looking for a personal service when searching for warehouse space.
The warehousexchange staff take on the responsibility of finding the
right space to match the customers brief, provide a shortlist to match the
brief and arrange initial visits, accompanied if necessary before leaving the
customer and the chosen warehouse operator to agree final details.
The warehousexchange space broking concept attracted
several competitors to the market, but all chose to provide an online space
directory rather than recognise that space broking is a service business.
Now the first and best known of those competitors, Spacebuster has closed
its web site after 12 months in business, stating that
online trading has
not yet replaced traditional methods
Meanwhile, warehousexchange goes from strength to strength.
The web-site now shows detail of over 15 million sq ft of space across the UK,
the number of customers is increasing dramatically as the warehousexchange brand
becomes ever more widely known and the company is currently interviewing
franchisees to extend the depth of coverage in all areas.
The space broking business is not as easy as our
so-called competitors believed said Roy Wilson, Joint Managing Director of
warehousexchange limited We
invest many hours with potential customers, ensuring that we know and understand
their needs precisely. Because of this, when they do need space, they know that
we can save them time by providing the solution that is right for them.
They appreciate the convenience of our service based business model

Iain Henderson, UK Managing Director of Nomad Energy said
Launching our range of Turkish natural stone products demanded a reliable and
cost-effective storage and logistics solution. Exporting the problem of
warehousing and logistics sourcing to the experts enabled me to focus attention
on other aspects of the launch. Warehousexchange understood my needs and after
due research presented me with a tight and relevant shortlist. Howard Tenens are
an extremely professional and reasonably priced operation with national
coverage, who understand the requirements of a new business enterprise such as
Nomad Energy Ltd.
Howard Tenens operates over 2 million square feet of
warehousing across the UK from six regional offices. The company offers
nationwide distribution, using its fleet of over 200 vehicles, equipped with the
latest vehicle and product tracking technology. The Boston facility can
accommodate up to 25,000 pallets, using a range of racking and handling aids
including facilities for handling containers.
